The comic is a good piece. I say this based on the fact that the pictures alone even without having read the words in a way relays the story, this is to say the pictures or rather the acting was for me perfect. According to writers of genre like Susan Sontag and Warshow this comic would fall under the genre of melodrama. This is on the premise that stories of this genre are more in accordance to real every day issues that real people face.
The issues pressure and drugs and their consequences are issues that we all face as Rhodes students. As shown in the comic when the girl tries to refuse the smoke but ends up giving in and changing her life to the point where she goes mad. I believe this story is very relevant to us as students who are also facing such pressures and will be useful to a student who will be in first year next year as they will have a clear idea of what to expect.
